Sun Baijun, male, Han ethnicity, was born in July 1968. He has a postgraduate diploma of Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Governance. He is a member of China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD）and member of Jiusan Society. He currently serves as Deputy Mayor of Nanjing, member of the CAPD Central Committee, Vice Chairperson of the CAPD Jiangsu Provincial Committee, and Chairperson of the CAPD Nanjing Municipal Committee. 

He is responsible for work related to education, culture, tourism, radio and television, health, sports, medical security, ethnic and religious affairs, cultural and ethical development, local chronicles, and schistosomiasis prevention and treatment. 

He supervises several municipal government departments: 

Nanjing Municipal Education Bureau, Nanjing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau (Cultural Relics Bureau, Radio and Television Bureau), Nanjing Municipal Health Commission, Nanjing Municipal Sports Bureau, Nanjing Municipal Healthcare Security Bureau, Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, Office of Nanjing Local Chronicles, Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum Administration, and Yuhuatai Martyrs Cemetery Management Administration. 

He also maintains communication with the following entities:

Ministry-affiliated and provincial higher education institutions and schools operated by nongovernmental bodies in Nanjing, Red Cross Society of China Nanjing Branch, Nanjing Municipal Federation of Social Sciences, Nanjing Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Nanjing Association of Taiwan Compatriots and Nanjing Municipal Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.
