Serving as a national-level hub for advancing trade, investment, technology, and cultural cooperation between China and the five Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan - The China Central Asia Trade Facilitation Cooperation Platform is located near Nanjing Railway Station in Xuanwu District, and occupies a 23,000-square-metre facility. The launching ceremony was attended by Xin Changxing, Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of CPC, and Xu Kunlin, Governor of Jiangsu.

The platform had earlier been introduced at the national level during the second China–Central Asia Summit held in Astana in June 2025, where it was jointly announced by leaders of China and the five Central Asian countries. It was officially inaugurated on August 5 in Xuanwu, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.

The platform integrates product exhibitions, trade services, cross-border e-commerce, and cultural experiences. Institutions such as the QazTrade Center for Trade Policy Development and multiple Central Asian enterprises have already established offices on site. In June, the platform co-hosted the 2025 Jiangsu (Astana) Import and Export Fair, which attracted over 5,000 participants and generated contracts worth more than 800 million yuan.

The platform also promotes customs cooperation through AEO certification, helping local companies reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Jiangsu's trade with Central Asia reached USD 4.41 billion in 2024, a 32.7% increase year-on-year. Chinese investment in the region surged 19-fold.

Looking ahead, Jiangsu plans to establish a "Central Asia Jiangsu Center" in Astana to further support bilateral trade and industrial cooperation. The platform is expected to play a key role in advancing high-quality Belt and Road development and strengthen regional connectivity.
