    COLUMBIA

As the fourth largest city in Colombia, Barranquilla is the capital city of the Atlantic Province and an important port. Located on the west bank of the Magdalena River, Barranquilla is an important distribution center for commodities and an important commercial city. Agricultural products exported via this city include coffee, cotton, cane sugar, livestock, and meat. As one of the national industrial centers, Barranquilla has developed industries including electronics, paper-making, textiles, food, cement, metallurgy and chemicals. The city is well connected in terms of transportation by highways, Atlantic Railways and international airport, as well as the Magdalena River which is the main channel connecting the inland and the Caribbean Sea.
