2011 China Innovation Annual Meeting hosted by Economic Daily was opened in Beijing. At the meeting, 2011 Top 10 Innovation Cities, Top 10 Low-carbon Cities, Top 10 Innovation Enterprises and Top 10 Innovation Persons were selected. Nanjing was one of the Top 10 Innovation City of China.

It is introduced that Nanjing has scored remarkable achievements in terms of innovation development in recent years. 2009, it was confirmed by the Ministry of Science and Technology as the only integrated scientific and technological system reform trial city in China. In 2010, Nanjing was named the first “China Famous Software City” by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
