At the “Government, University and Enterprise Cooperation 2012 New Year Forum” hosted by The City Vocation College of Jiangsu, it was introduced that Nanjing plans to build “China Software University”.

Software industry features low consumption, low pollution, high output and gathering of high quality talents. It is the most prosperous and promising strategic emerging industry of the 21st Century and the focus of development for many countries.

As the first “China Famous Software City”, development of software industry of Nanjing has seen an upsurge. Now there are more than 2200 software enterprises including Microsoft, IBM, ZTE and Huawei. Software Industry of Nanjing delivered sales revenue of 152 billion RMB in 2011, growing by 50% YoY, thus ranked No.3 in China and No.1 in Jiangsu.

There are more than 220,000 people working in the software industry in Nanjing. By 2015, the number will be 1 million, which means that there will be 700,000 vacancies in the future 4 years. Therefore, Nanjing is planning to build China Software University.

Besides, Nanjing will introduce 100 leading software talents and 1-2 professional software talent training authorities to run a national software talent practice base or software college, forming a famous software talent training base.
