It is released at the Nanjing CPPCC press conference that the 5th Meeting of the 12th Session of Nanjing CPPCC will be held during January 11-14, for 4 days. There will be foreigners sitting in the meeting for the first time, including officials of the USA Consulate-general in Shanghai.

The meeting will be different from previous ones in many ways. Firstly, number of sitting-in members will be 181, which is bigger. And there will be foreigners for the first time. Officials of the USA Consulate-general in Shanghai have already sit in CPPCC meetings of Shanghai, Jiangsu Province and some southern cities of Jiangsu and their attendance in Nanjing is expected as the first time. At the Political Information Sharing Session of the meeting, heated topics to be discussed will cover a wider range. Based on the theme of “breaking through bottleneck and take a lead to realize basic modernization”, municipal leaders and leaders from 12 related departments will be invited to share information regarding economic development, people’s livelihood, social development and eco-environment.
