On the evening of December 26, awarding ceremony of “The 5th Anniversary of China City with Best Sense of Happiness and 2011 China City with Best Sense of Happiness” was held at Nanjing TV Station.
20 cities winning the title of “2011 China City with Best Sense of Happiness” was released at the ceremony. Among them, Tianjin, Chongqing and Zhuhai were above-prefecture-level “2011 China City with Best Sense of Happiness”; Nanjing and Wuxi won the golden medal of above prefecture-level “2011 China City with Best Sense of Happiness”; Chengdu, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Changsha and Kunming were given special honorary award of “The 5th Anniversary of China City with Best Sense of Happiness”; Jiangyin, Kunshan, Wujiang, Taicang, Wujin and Yunyang were selected as county-level “2011 China City with Best Sense of Happiness”; Yixing, Yuyao, Changsha County and Haicheng won the golden medal of “2011 China City with Best Sense of Happiness”. Also, in order to commend achievements of “5 Chongqing”, the organizing committee specially gave the Livelihood Contribution Award to Yunyang County, Bishan County, Yubei District, Jiangjin District and Yongchuan District. Governors of these cities together released Nanjing Manifesto of City with Happiness.
The survey and selection of China City with Best Sense of Happiness have been held for 5 years. In 2011, it was hosted by Oriental Outlook of the Xinhua News Agency, Report on Urban Development of China of China Association of Mayors Working Committee and the Publicity Department of Nanjing Party Committee. The activity was kicked off from last September. The organizing committee picked out 66 prefecture-level and above cities and 50 county-level cities from top 100 cities and counties of China in terms of comprehensive competitiveness. Then, the committee assigned professional authorities to conduct household survey regarding 20 categories of indexes such as the milk of human kindness, traffic conditions, medical conditions, educational quality, natural environment, housing price and price level. As of end of last November, 22,000 independent household survey samples were collected and 37 million person-times all over the country participated in newspaper or online survey. |
