September, Raoyue Southeast Section Will be Open to Traffic; 2012, Outer Ring of Nanjing Will Close the Loop

As an important part of mid-east ring of Raoyue Project, the southeast section will be open to traffic the coming September. 2 years later, synchronized completion of the 4th Bridge and the northeast section will symbolize the loop fully closed for Raoyue Expressway.

 

Southeast section of Raoyue Expressway is an important part of the artery of Shanghai-Chengdu National Highway and a main section of the outbound 2nd Ring Expressway confirmed in the overall city planning of Nanjing. The project extends from the 3rd Yangtze River Bridge to the 4th Bridge under construction, with enclosed dual-6 lanes and design speed of 120km/h.

 

Southeast section of Raoyue Expressway intersects with 4 national highways, 5 provincial highways and 11 city roads and crosses 4 railways. In order to make the best use of this expressway, 8 interchanges are set up along the whole line: Liucun Interchange connecting Ningma Road and Raoyue Expressway, Dongshanqiao Interchange connecting to Ningdan Road, Nanzhuang Interchange(near Dongjiancun) connecting to the Airport Expressway, Yinxiang Interchange connecting to Shuanglong Avenue, Kexueyuan Interchange connecting to Tianyuan Road, Dongshan Interchange linked to Dongshan Street, Ninghang Interchange connecting to the old Nanjing-Hangzhou Expressway and Qilin Interchange linking Nanjing-Shanghai Expressway. If you drive on the southeast section of Raoyue, you can see a interchange exit averagely every 5km through which you can conveniently enter downtown Nanjing. (Nanjing Morning Post)
