2010 China • Nanjing World Historical & Cultural Cities Expo will be held in Nanjing October 20th to 24th. The other day, WHCCE Organizing Committee held a press conference to introduce the event of this year in details.

WHCCE has been successfully held for 3 times. This year, more than 100 activities such as opening/closing ceremonies, forums, exhibitions, festivals, performances, competitions, tours, business invitation, theme activities and carnivals, on the them of “Culture makes a better city”. The content is divided into 6 sections: Seeing the World, Affection for YOG, Charm of China, Splendid South, Culture of Nanjing and Nanjing Carnival. By that time, a lot of events will take place to fully embody aim of the expo, “Feast of Culture, Festival of the People”: 2010 WHCCE Opening Ceremony and Evening Gala, 2010 WHCCE Closing Ceremony and 2010 MAN Global Ecological Tourism Miss World Award Ceremony, City Mayors Forum, Nanjing International Charity Cultural Forum, International Youth Art Movie Summit Forum, International Image of China Cities Award Ceremony, 2010 the 2nd IOV World Youth Congress, Nanjing Pearl Spring Chess Tournament, 2010 China Tennis Grand Prix Cup, Beauty in Nanjing – YOG Ambassadors Competition, the 2nd Nanjing “Cultural Celebrities” and “Cultural Elaborate Works” Appraisal and Award Ceremony, the 3rd Nanjing Folk Art Festival, 2010 (the 5th) China Nanjing Cultural Industry Trade Fair, etc. 

The expo this year will make some break-through in terms of level of guests, scale of exhibitions, number of items and pattern of operation, comparing with previous sessions.

At the press conference, mascot of WHCCE “Mingming”, “Chengcheng” and “Huihui” were debuted, whose names together sounds similar to WHCCE in Chinese (Ming Cheng Hui).

As an important activity of this year’s WHCCE, 2010 (the 5th) Cultural Industry Trade Fair will be held at Nanjing International Expo Center October 21st-24th. (Nanjing Daily)
