On August 13th, 2010, Nanjing High-end Industries and Scientific Innovation Promotion Fair was held in Singapore. It aroused attention of government, industrial circles and media of Singapore. 14 industrial programs were signed at the fair with contract capital of about 519 million USD. Nanjing Municipal Government also signed Memorandum of Training Cooperation with Singapore Cooperation Enterprise.

Wei Wei, Chinese ambassador in Singapore attended the fair. Mr. Lee Yi Shyan, Minister of State for Trade & Industry and Manpower of Singapore and Zhu Shanlu, standing member of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and party secretary of Nanjing delivered speeches.

Zhao Xiaojiang, standing member of the CPC Nanjing Committee and vice-mayor made a through introduction of Nanjing’s high-end industrial development. Mr. Tan Cheng Gay, vice-president of Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry called on Singaporean enterprises to participate in development of Nanjing. Zhong Shengjian, chairman of Sino-Singaporean Nanjing Eco-Technology Island Development Co., Ltd. and chairman of Yanlord Land Group Limited introduced program status of Sino-Singaporean Eco-Technology Island. Nearly 300 people from Singaporean government, industrial associations, major enterprise, Nanjing delegation and media attended the fair.

Before that, Zhao Xiaojiang led Nanjing Trade Representative Delegation to South Korea and Australia for trade promotion during August 5th-12th. Business attraction results were fruitful through inter-government communication, visits to key customers, special dedicated activities and promotion of existing programs.

On 6th and q11th, 2010 Nanjing • South Korea Opportunities of Emerging Industries Briefing and Promotion Fair and Nanjing • Australia Industrial, Scientific, Educational and Talent Cooperation Opportunities Promotion Fair were held. Through the 3 big fairs, Nanjing got 33 programs worth about 1.199 billion USD.

There are 30 programs of business invitation and investment attraction among the program signed.

There is also an inter-government program, i.e. the Memorandum on Training Cooperation signed between Nanjing Municipal Government and Singapore Cooperation Enterprise. There is an inter-college training program, i.e. Memorandum on Senior Citizens Service Management Training between La Trobe University of Australia and Zhongshan Polytechnic Institute. Besides, there is an outbound investment program, i.e. Joint Venture Agreement between Nanjing Construction Engineering Group and Laguna Group of Australia, for which the 2 parties will invest 160 million AUD to found a joint-venture and conduct urban comprehensive development in Australia.
