On 14th, the 1st Youth Olympic Games opened in Singapore. More than 5000 sportsman and officials from 205 Olympic members participated. As the host city of the 2nd YOG, Nanjing organized a delegation to watch the event on invitation.

The delegation of Nanjing consists of Officials Team led by municipal government leaders, YOG Office Team, Nanjing Sports Bureau Team and a media team. Officials Team and YOG Office Team will watch the opening, closing ceremonies and part of the cultural activities of the 1st YOG. They will also visit some stadiums and sports center and communicate with Singapore YOG Organizing Committee. At the closing ceremony, Mayor Ji Jianye will take over the Olympic Flag from Jacques Rogge, president of IOC. A 90-second promotion video of Nanjing will also be broadcast at the ceremony, to demonstrate and promote Nanjing at the top sports arena of the world. On the afternoon of August 25th, the delegation will hold a press conference in Singapore to introduce the preparation progress of Nanjing YOG.

Besides, a training delegation consists of 40 people from YOG Office and the system of Jiangsu Sports Bureau have already arrived in Singapore on August 1st. They are arranged to join general department and competition department of Singapore YOG Organizing Committee t learn from them in practice. (Nanjing Daily)
