On 2nd, the first opening ceremony of Sino-German College of Nanjing University for Staff and Workers was held in Sanjing University. Xu Huiling, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee, Secretary, Party Leading Group and Chairman of Nanjing General Labor Union attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.

Last year, the University for Staff and Workers under Nanjing General Labor Union cooperated with Sanjiang University to run educational business. Sino-German Education College, founded last November, is the secondary college of Nanjing University for Staff and Workers. At the time of establishment, the General Labor Union signed "Sino-German Cooperative School Running Agreement" with Germany Vocational Education Federation. Sino-German Education College will follow German concept of "dual system" and "take the enterprise as principal part of vocational education"; reinforce cooperation between enterprises and schools and implement "order" education. On Feb. 25th, Nanjing Vocational Education Association was founded involving over 100 enterprises and more than 10 schools. The association will connect schools and enterprises in terms of communication. 

The first group of students of Sino-German Education College is composed of front-line company workers, junior college students who haven't found jobs and on-campus students of Sanjiang University. It is reported that, these students will study theoretical knowledge at school for 40% of the time and practice operation in companies for the rest of the time.

At the opening ceremony, Phoenix Contact gave a grant of 400,000 RMB to Sino-German Education College.

Xu Huiling says, vocational education is an important part of "to prosper the country through scientific and educational advances" and "to invigorate the country through talent development"; and a great guarantee to sustainable development. She requires that the college should become a model of vocational education and a famous brand in Jiangsu, even in China. She hopes the students will cherish the opportunities; study hard; be persistent and diligent in practice; master the skills solidly. (Nanjing Daily)
