On Feb. 27, before the Lantern Festival of lunar calendar, CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee and Nanjing Municipal Government jointly hosted a New Year Reunion for academicians and returned students in Nanjing, which has been held for the 11th time for high-level talents. Totally over 60 academicians from Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering and returned students participated. Wang Qi, member of the Standing Committee and head of the Organization Department of CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee delivered a speech at the reunion. He reviewed work related to scientific and technical talents in 2009; talked about transforming development mode and delivering  new idea of “3-stage” talent development. Vice mayor Wang Yonghong and Li Qi and leaders from the Organization Department of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Chinese Academy of Sciences Nanjing Branch also attended the reunion. 

On that day, the participants went to visit Hexi New Town of Jianye District, Software Avenue of Yuhua District, construction site of South Nanjing Station and Jingning Development Zone. They showed positive attitude to the ways and effect of introducing high-end talents and scientific & technological programs, reinforcing carrier development of development zones and vigorously delivering transformation and innovation. And they also felt exited on seeing the South Nanjing Station. 

Wang Qi introduced to the participants in his speech that how Nanjing dealt with international financial crisis in 2009, successfully developed economy and won over hosting right of 2014 Youth Olympic Games. On behalf of CPC Nanjing Committee and the municipal government, he extended appreciation and respect to the participants who have made remarkable contributions to the scientific development of Nanjing. He said, Nanjing achieved success again and again owing to the persistence in prioritizing science, education and talents. The gather of various persons with ability, especially academicians and returned talents has strongly sustained and propelled the scientific and technological innovation as well as economic development of Nanjing. 

On behalf of academicians, Professor Zhao Chunsheng of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Professor Zhang Qisheng of Nanjing Forestry University; and on behalf of returned talents, Huang Wei, Chairman of Nanjing Fangyuan Huanqiu Display Technology Co., Ltd., and Zhuang Weidong, General Manager of Nanjing Yinmao Micro-electronics Manufacturing Co., Ltd. respectively made speeches on the course and experience of innovation and business establishment in Nanjing.
