On the evening of 27th, United Front Work Department of the CPC Nanjing Committee and Nanjing Overseas Friendship Association organized 2010 Lantern Festival Gala. Directors of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan Section of the association and related municipal leaders gathered together happily to celebrate the Lantern Festival and discuss development of Nanjing. Qian Jihong and Huang Huang, leaders of the municipal government participated.    

Qian Jihong, member of the Standing Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee, chairman of Nanjing Overseas Friendship Association extended festival wishes to Nanjing-based compatriots in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan. She thanked directors of Overseas Friendship Association and compatriots who have contributed to social and economic development of Nanjing.  She says, in the new year, Nanjing will expedite “3 Development” and “3 Advancement”; proactively prepare for 2014 Youth Olympic Games, which will provide a new development platform for directors of Nanjing Overseas Friendship Association and Nanjing-based compatriots in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan. Hopefully, compatriots will seized the opportunity and take the initiative to take part in construction and development of Nanjing, thus achieving mutual benefits and win-win. She requires the association to further bring into play the advantage of comprehensive overseas contact so as to fully serve for “3 Development” and introduction of capital, wisdom and talents. In this way, the association will communicate and cooperate with overseas countries and later hold the Youth Olympics successfully, develop a “New Nanjing” and make greater contributions to facilitate peaceful development across the Taiwan Straits and the great revival of Chinese Nation.
