On 27th, Zhu Shanlu, Member of Standing Committee of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, Secretary of CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee and Mayor Ji Jianye respectively met the visiting delegation of American AMD Company, headed by Ms. Guo Kezun, Global Senior VP and President of Greater China.

On behalf of CPC Nanjing Committee and Nanjing Municipal Government, Zhu Shanlu welcomed the delegation to investigate the development of software industry in Nanjing. He said it would be significant for their future cooperation. For many years, Nanjing has put forth effort to become a China Renowned Software City, with remarkable achievements. We plan to expedite the process of internationalization for the next step. Nanjing will seek for cooperation globally on developing information software industry, including semiconductor. Hopefully, AMD will carry out new projects with Nanjing and make the city a base for AMD in China and Asia. 

Ji Jianye said that, Nanjing has tremendous strength in science and education, and abundant human resources. There are many leading key universities and advanced scientific research talents on IT design, communication software and so on. At the same time, talent commercial cost is low; legal system is well built; society is safe and harmonious. So it is a good place for developing software and IT industry. Now, Nanjing strives to build a completed intellectual property protection system, which will provide benefits for AMD and other famous IT and software enterprises when they settle in Nanjing or set up research and development center or production organization. Hopefully, AMD will get a better understanding of Nanjing during the visit and find cooperation opportunities. The government will give full support to cooperative projects.

Guo Kezun highly appreciated Nanjing's software industry for its advantages of talents and research & development field. She expressed that, AMD was considering expanding the R&D base in China and enlarge research and development scale. Nanjing is one of the optimal options. They hope to establish deeper and longer cooperative relationship with Nanjing in the future. (Nanjing Daily)
