Shanghai-Nanjing City Inter-city Railway Laying Track for the Whole Line and Put into Passenger Transportation in Next July

On December 5, Shanghai-Nanjing inter-city railway entered the whole line laying tracking period. Eight sections including Wangyuhe Bridge started the construction of non-ballast track laying at the same time.

The Shanghai-Nanjing inter-city railway which was started construction from July 2008 begins from Shanghai Station, passes Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou and Zhenjiang, ends in Nanjing. During the Shanghai Expo. in July 2009, the finished Shanghai-Nanjing inter-city railway will be put into passenger transportation. There are 21 stations along the whole line, and there are 2 kinds of CRH trains for nonstop between main stations and stopping at middle stations. The main character of Shanghai-Nanjing inter-city railway is there are many stops and lots of trains. The shortest alternation is there would be one train in every three minutes. Citizens can travel between Shanghai and Nanjing by railway like taking buses.

It is known that Shanghai-Nanjing inter-city railway has utilized the non-ballast track, which is the world's most advanced track technology. The non-ballast track can reduce maintenance, lower the dust, beautify the environment and raise the speed of the train. (Yangtze Evening Post)
