There is a program of “Signing and supporting Nanjing” is going on in Germany. Mayor of G ttingen signed his name first and later mayor of Leipzig, which is a sister city of Nanjing, also promise to sign his name. Then the runner-up of Judo in Beijing Olympic signed to cheer up Nanjing. There are also “best footballer”, president, professors and students of European Commerce University all signed their names.

Liu Yihe, 10 years old student in Nanjing Hanjiang Road Primary School met Huber, 24 years old senior student in European Commerce University because of the “International Intern Project” sponsored by Nanjing Foreign Culture Communication Center. Liu Yihe became the “Nanjing folk ambassador candidate for foreign culture communication” and Liu’s family got the certificate to be the first “Homestay”. Huber moved into Liu Yihe’s family from this June 15 as the first international intern and has had a feeling of family members.

Huber returned to Germany in this September. But he still keeps in touch with Liu Yihe. “Not long before we talked about Nanjing’s application for 2014 Youth Olympic Game on telephone. All my classmates want to do our job to the event.” After Liu Yihe’s discussion with Huber, they decided to launch a signing activity in Germany. Huber specially made a banner of 10 meters, on which it was wrote by Chinese and German respectively “Supporting Nanjing to Apply to the 2014 Youth Olympic Game”, and beside these words there were the national flags of China and Germany.

Mayor of G ttingen has been to Nanjing before. On December 25, the kids sent an email to the mayor of D ttinggen.

Four days later, secretary of the mayor of G ttingen replied that they would contact Huber and they were glad to sign their names on the banner.

Mayor of G ttingen talked with Huber for over 2 hours after he signed his name. All their topics are about Nanjing. Huber said proudly that now everybody known him and is coming to see him all call him “Mr. Nanjing”.

Now the 10-meter-banner was almost full of signature. It will be send back from Germany in 20 days.（Nanjing Daily）
