After the two-day connections and talks, 4,400 buyers have spent billions of RMB on the 4th International Retailers’ Sourcing Fair (IRSF). On June 29, IRSF held a signing conference for major sourcing projects. A group of suppliers gained orders worth RMB 3.162 billion from retailers home and abroad.

An eye-catching phenomenon on IRSF happened. Large retailers focus more on the “connection between agriculture and supermarket”. For example, Wal-Mart reached the sourcing agreement with Tongzhou JingRui Vegetable Cooperative; Carrefour held hands with the Jiangsu Yueda Agriculture Development Company; RT-Mart signed the contract with MeiLi Town MingHai Vegetable Planting Garden of Changshu City…

The Organization Committee released that those signed on June 29 are only part of the “results” of IRSF. Wal-Mart, Carrefour, and RT-Mart, the three international retail groups, all talked about sourcing orders with companies such as KingClean Electric Co., Ltd, Jiangsu Yueda South Holding Co., Ltd, Jiangsu Food Group Co., Ltd etc. Though the global financial crisis had some impact on IRSF, the sourcing was still going very busy which was out of anticipation.
