On the evening of January 19, beautiful lantern sets were lighted at Zhonghua Gate Square in Nanjing, where the opening ceremony of the 3rd Jiangsu-Taiwan Lantern Festival and the 26th Jiangsu Qinhuai Lantern Festival and 2012 Nanjing Cultural Tourism Festival were held.

It is introduced that the lantern festival this year carried over the dimensional structure of water, land and air. Lanterns were exhibited on the land of Fuzimiao, over the water of the Qinhuai River and above the Ming Dynasty City Wall in forms of lantern exhibition, lantern landscaping, lantern boats and lantern markets. From January 19 to February 9, more than 100 sets of middle and large size lanterns and over 400,000 lantern are exhibited.
