On 16th, Ctrip released “2010 Dragon Boat Festival National Popular Cities” after investigating over 30 main cities in China. Nanjing ascended to “Top 10 Popular Destinations”, ranking 10th. According to the statistics of Nanjing Bureau of Parks and Woods, more than 2 million person-times visitors were received by Nanjing during the 3-day holiday of the Dragon Boat Festival, very close to May Day holiday.
The statistics shows that this year’s Dragon Boat Holiday featured countryside tour and popularity of scenic spots along the metro lines.
The head bone sarira of Buddha was unveiled to the world again after a thousand years in Xiqia Temple. Therefore, the Qixia Mountain scenic area was particularly favored by tourists. More than 30,000 person-times went there, an approximate 200% increase comparing with same time last year.
