A few days ago, Mr. Rick Halpern, vice-principal (academic) at the University of Toronto says during his campus talk at Nanjing Foreign Languages Middle School, from this year, the University of Toronto will broaden its “green passage” in Nanjing. Excellent students in Nanjing can be directly enrolled as long as they pass the exam of the University of Toronto.

It is introduced that, the University of Toronto ranks first in Canada and stays on top among universities all over the world. It always ranks around 10th in the world in terms of scientific innovation, literature, humanities and natural science. Their trip to Nanjing is the first recruiting campus talk they have done in China. “We are not short of student sources but we are aiming at diversification as the university is being internationalized” Mr. Halpern says. The University of Toronto and Nanjing Foreign Languages School have established cooperation programs since 2006. 59 students were admitted to the University of Toronto after selection and now they have all graduated with good academic records, which made the university prefer Nanjing students more.
