Recently, 96196,the provincial transporting information service hotline, was put into running in 5 cities including Nanjing. From now on, any service about transportation including asking the way, mending a car and a complaining can all be fixed by dialling 96196. 

It has been 5 years since Nanjing opened 96916 hotline. From October 26th, it will formally get connected with 96196 in Suzhou, Wuxi, Yancheng and Huai'an. Luo Hong, deputy secretary of  the Party Branch of Nanjing Transportation Bureau, introduced, 96196 will integrate the formal transporting service resources of highway, road transport, maritime affairs in Jiangsu after the connection. Every needs on transportation can be meet by dialing 96196.

Journalist get to know that, so far 96196 can proving transporting inquiry services including asking they way for drivers, bus transition, highway condition, passenger transporting schedules, reporting for a car broken down and any fault. It also accepts the complaining, report and suggestions on administrative law enforcement and quality of the service of transporting profession. In addition, it also provides high speed navigation, expose inquiry and weather forecasting. It is known that, the call volume for 96196 Nanjing is 1,200. The quantity will increase after the connection.
As planned, after 96196 in 5 cities get connected in this year, it will also build a provincial transportating information service platform by utilizing medium as website, broadcasting and SMS. This platform will cover other provinces and cities in 2010.（Nanjing Morning）
