The “Adopting Ancient Trees Activity” is very busy.
DSM (China) Company is located on the Taishan Road of Hexi. Its staffs have been “negotiating” with the landscape department on adopting the 47 cinnamon trees in front of the company’s gate. They said that it would be convenient for them to take care of those trees. Plus, their British boss believed that these trees could reduce the carbon emission produced by staffs.
Mr. Tang Jiangsheng, boss of DSM (China) is a native British. He said that many large enterprises in Europe had the “carbon elimination plan”—the amount of CO2 produced by every staff during daily activity would be calculated and the company would pay fees to special organizations in terms of planting trees or buying environmental protection equipments to eliminate the “carbon emission” of staffs.
“We want to adopt the trees as well!” The staffs all wanted to join in the activity. Tang paid all the fees for the staffs. “The company adopts seven, and each staff adopts one, 40 staffs in total.” Wang Jiajia said happily, “we discussed about the place of trees we should adopt. Those on Changjiang Raod, Beijing West Road, etc. But none of us agreed. We wanted to see those trees every day.” “Why not adopt those in the front of our company?” The staffs reached a consensus on this suggestion which was also supported by the landscape department.
