From May to December this year, the Nanjing Municipal Government News Office will host the “Join the Fun in Jinling—Foreigners in Nanjing Participating Cultural Activity”. The whole activity is divided into four parts: “talents competition”, “life skills show”, “world charms”, and an evening party –“join the fun in Jinling—foreigners in Nanjing”.

The “talents competition” will be held in the Nanjing Lig Museum from June. The contestants can be foreign students, foreign teachers, foreign experts, and staffs in foreign enterprises who can speak some Chinese, love Chinese culture and have special skills in art. They can choose any type of programs for the competition, such Chinese songs, traditional opera, folk music performance, dancing, calligraphy, painting, cross talking, sketch, wushu, and Taiji fist, etc. The program can be performed by either an individual or a group.

The “life skills show” will be held in the Jiangsu Phoenix Palace Hotel on May 23. Foreigners attended will join in the following activities: making Zongzi (rice dumpling wrapped in reed leaves) competition; learning cold dish carving and making dumplings and glutinous rice dumpling in soup on the spot; displaying Nanjing folk skills, such as dragon and lion dance, paper cutting, etc.; reciting Chinese poems, and so on. The “world charms” will be held in October, which is a large consultation activity for foreigners in Nanjing. The evening party –“join the fun in Jinling” will be held on December. (Yangtze Evening)
