Nanjing Jiangning Binjiang Economic Development Zone

as a provincial-level development zone recognized in 2006 and located to the south of the Yangtze River in the southwest of Nanjing, it is designed to cover an area of 51.12 square kilometers. Following the requirements of "a first-class low-carbon, smart, ecological and liveable modernized new city", it focuses on such industries as equipment manufacturing (including rail transportation equipment manufacturing, automobile and component manufacturing, mechanical equipment manufacturing, general/dedicated equipment manufacturing, marine equipment manufacturing and electrical equipment manufacturing), electronic information, new material and new energy, seeking to become a base for rail transportation and high-end equipment manufacturing and R&D. It also aims to build itself into a new-energy-consumed production base in the Yangtze River Basin and the largest iron and steel logistics base in east China.

A number of corporations both domestic and abroad have so far entered the Zone, including Kaigong Shield Machine, CNNC Equipement, CSSC-Luzhou, Nanjing Technical Equipment Manufacture and BaoseTi, preliminarily shaping the mutually-linked layout of "logistics at the port, industries in the downtown and new town at the riverside".
