The underground palace was announced to be discovered on the central axis of the Porcelain Tower at the end of the year 2007.

The findings show that the underground palace of the Porcelain Tower takes on shaft shape, common in the south region of China, and is about five meters below ground surface, very deep. Its tower footing consists of outermost foundation ditch, rammed stone band and inner soil layer of original hillbody , very similar to that of Lei Feng Tower in Hangzhou. Its rammed stone band uses sandwich form with a total of 26 layers, in which rammed earth layers and stone layers stacked together. What a strong and majestic project!
