Gucheng Lake-Bred Crabs to Be Exported to Taiwan This Fall

When interviewed, Xing Qingsong, who is breeding Gaochun Crabs in the 5,000-acre large Gucheng Lake, said excitingly, "It's been a very good year. In a short while, all crabs are expected to be on the market." Meanwhile, as the only one in Nanjing who is qualified to export his crabs, Xing Qingsong will most likely to export his crabs to Taiwan this fall.

At the same time, groups of buyers from Taiwan have been coming to his breeding base. On the morning of July 7th, Xing received another group of Taiwan buyers. ?It was all started from last year when Gucheng Lake crabs were exported to Japan, Singapore and China Hong Kong. In fact, from as early as this May and June, a large number of potential buyers have contacted me and sent orders. From Taiwan alone I have already received three groups of them.?

Recent news said that Xing had signed contract with a company in Taipei. To meet the needs of its many restaurants and supermarkets, the company, according to the contract, had sent an order of over 300 tons of crabs for this fall. ?Right now the only possible obstacle is the quality inspection to be conducted by related departments in Taiwan. Once we pass that, we can export these crabs to Taiwan.?

Gucheng Lake Crab?s become more and more popular in the world. Besides Taiwan, Other regions and countries are also sending orders. For instance, Australia, for the first time in Nanjing?s history, will import these crabs this year for the first Crab Festival to be held in Sidney this November. A delegation from Austria will visit Gaochun to inspect very soon. (Nanjing Daily)
