Being part of the ?four vertical? in Jiangsu?s ?five vertical, nine horizontal and five link?  traffic planning, the Second Phase of Nanjing-Hangzhou Highway will be opened to traffic at the end of next month. According to the Transport Department of Nanjing City, the so-called The First Highway Connecting Nanjing and Hangzhou will come to its last stage of overall asphalt paving early next month. This highway ranks first in terms of technology, landscape, afforestation, etc.

Nanjing-Lishui section in Nanjing-Hangzhou Highway is 37.277 kilometers in length, among which Nanjing section takes up 29.677 kilometers. People are looking forward to seeing the application of new technology in this project. The first one is asphalt drainage road, which has high surface porosity. Water can be drained away quickly and no water can stay on the surface. Even water fog can be nearly eliminated. The other one is ecological acoustic board, that is to grow oleander and other plants in the 50- meter wide green belt. This can help to reduce noise from 70 to 50 decibels (decreased by 30%).

the Second Phase of Nanjing-Hangzhou Highway runs from Gao Qiaomen to Shangfang and connect with the first phase of this highway in Bei Guizhuang of Li Shui. Relevant personage from Traffic Planning Department said that traffic jam happened every day from Jiangning to the downtown area, and the open of Second Phase of Nanjing-Hangzhou Highway can make the situation better.
