Compal Communications focuses on the R&D, production and OEM of PDA, GSM, CDMA, GPRS, Smart Phone and Wireless PDA, various mobile phone and battery modules and other relevant products and accessories. It sells its own products and offers after-sales services. Compal Communications has integrated R&D and production capabilities ranging from high-end mobile phones to low-end ones, and has top talents in respect of software & hardware designing. It has created many No. 1 records in the domestic wireless communication industry ever since its establishment.
In Sep., 2003, Compal Communications (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. was officially approved by the Jiangning Economic and Technological Development Zone, and established in (the Southern Zone of) Nanjing Export Processing Zone as the first foreign-funded enterprise registered in the Export Processing Zone. It was initially invested with a total of USD29.5 million with a registered capital of USD22 million. It formally started construction in Apr., 2004 and 47,000 square meters of plant space was ready for operation about 100 days later. It has set up mobile phone production and R&D bases within the processing zone. Currently, its clients comprise top mobile phone brands from Europe, America, Japan and South Korea. The company has extended its market from Asia to overseas markets like Europe, North America and Mexico. In 2011, the company transformed its business from low-end mobile phones gradually to high-end smart phones through the efforts of all employees. As of Apr., 2012, its capacity was increased by 430% YoY.
