Expenditure in Education, Culture and Entertainment Increase
2017-08-10
Yesterday, Nanjing Investigation Team of State Statistics Bureau released information that in the first half year of 2017, the expenditure in education, culture and entertainment of rural residents has increased by 16.2%, 6.8 % higher than that of urban residents.

The data show that as the resident’s life quality improving, the expenditure in education, culture and entertainment has gradually taken place of the expenditure in food which just meet the needs of survival. In the first half year, the expenditure in education, culture and entertainment of the residents has increased by 10.4%. “Parents are more and more willing to spend money on their children's education, and the training industry has developed a variety of extra-curricular training products conforming to requirements. Thus the rise in price has led to the expenditure increase in education. At the same time, the increased number of people traveling abroad year by year has led to the rapid growth of entertainment expenditure,” said the investigator.

It is mentionable that the growth of education, culture and entertainment expenditure in rural areas is most obvious and the material consumption has transformed to spiritual consumption. In the first half of the year, the expenditure in education, culture and entertainment of urban residents and rural residents has respectively increased by 9.4% and 16.2%.
