Ji Jianye, male, Han nationality, is born in January, 1957, in Zhangjianggang, Jiangsu. He is a CPC member, who started work since March, 1975. He has got on-the-job postgraduate qualifications (graduated from Constitution and Administrative Law Specialty of College of Law of Soochow University; and is a J.D. He has successively held the posts of Deputy Editor-in-Chief and member of CPC leading group of Suzhou Daily;  Deputy Secretary of Wuxian County Committee of the CPC, Deputy Secretary of Wuxian County (Municipality) Committee of the CPC,  concurrently Secretary of Working Committee of CPC Suzhou Taihu Resort Committee,  and Director of Administrative Committee of Suzhou Taihu Resort, Deputy Secretary of Kunshan Municipal Committee of the CPC, Executive Vice-mayor of Kunshan, Acting Mayor of Kunshan, Mayor of Kunshan Municipality, Secretary of Kunshan Municipal Committee of the CPC, Deputy Secretary of Yangzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, Acting Mayor of Yangzhou, Mayor of Yangzhou Municipality, Secretary of Yangzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, currently Director of standing committee of Yangzhou Municipal People's Congress. Now he assumes the role of Commissioner and standing member of Nanjing Municipal Committee of the CPC, Deputy Secretary of CPC Nanjing Committee and Mayor of Nanjing Municipality.

He takes charge of general work of the municipal government and concurrently manages finance, state assets, institutional organization, audit, planning, land, supervision and people's armed forces.
